Applicants of the New York State Public Health Corps

This program is available to anyone who has completed an application to become a NYS Public Health Fellow.

COURSE EXPERIENCE

You should plan to spend about 5-6 hours completing this Cornell training. After completing, you will be directed to two other programs required by NYS in preparation for the NYS Public Health Corps. This additional training is likely to take approximately 10 hours to complete.

There are no formal assignments for this training, but there will be a knowledge check for comprehension.

Yes, the course is 100% online and you may work at your own pace.

Cornell uses the Canvas learning platform. After you complete the Cornell training, you will be directed to two other learning platforms for the other NYS required training: one run by NYS and one delivered by Coursera.

COST

This program is free to applicants of the NYS Public Health Corps.

ENROLLMENT

The first step is to apply for the NYS Public Health Corps: https://www.ny.gov/programs/new-york-state-public-health-corps. Once you complete your application you will receive an email from NYS with instructions on how to enroll. General questions about the program may be emailed to NYSPublicHealthCorps@health.ny.gov.

After you enroll with eCornell, you will receive a separate confirmation email with your new account information. You’ll then access the course on lms.ecornell.com.

If you have forgotten your password you can request a password reset link while attempting to login. When prompted to enter your password, please click “Forgot Your Password”. Then, enter the email address associated with your account and click Submit. You will then be able to reset your password from your email inbox. If you cannot resolve the issue in this manner, please send an email nypublichealth@cornell.edu.
