After earning his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Cornell University and enjoying a distinguished career in business and higher ed, Dr. Zvi Galil transformed learning as the architect of Georgia Tech's revolutionary Online Master of Science in Computer Science (OMSCS). Launched in 2014 with Udacity and AT&T, this program offers a full master's degree.
From 380 initial students, OMSCS has grown to over 16,000 by spring 2025, making it the world's largest computer science program. With more than 13,500 graduates and praise from luminaries like President Barack Obama, the program has inspired over 50 similar programs at more than 30 universities.
Sponsored by the Cornell Ann S. Bowers College of Computing and Information Science, Dr. Galil's talk will cover key concepts and insights from OMSCS's first decade as well as his vision for the future of online learning.
